Support
FND Ireland facilitated the first ever in person peer support meeting in Ireland for those living with FND including their family members and carers in Leitrim in June. Over 100 people attended our meetings throughout 2024 in Leitrim, Galway, Cork, Dublin and Kildare.
Education and Research
FND Ireland sets up the first FND Advocacy, Education & Research Committee in Ireland in September which is chaired by Dr Aoife Laffan, Consultant Neurologist and co-founder of FND Ireland. The committee brings together healthcare professionals and academics partnering with patients to advance FND treatment, education and research.
Collaboration
Our founder, Eamon McPartlin was a member of a group of lived experience representatives who had the opportunity through the Neurological Alliance of Ireland to input into the drafting of the ‘My Neuro’ patient experience survey which included Ireland for the first time in 2024. The results of the survey will be published in April 2025.
