Get Involved

There are many ways you can get involved and support FND Ireland such as becoming a volunteer, raising awareness or partnering with us. Once we are registered as a charity there will be further opportunities to donate, get involved in fundraising events and become a corporate charity partner.

Volunteer With Us

FND Ireland is an entirely voluntary organisation with a committed team of volunteers. Giving our plans to grow and extend our reach to the entire FND community in Ireland we need more volunteers. Volunteering can be a really fulfilling way to make a meaningful difference in supporting those living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) in Ireland.

We have volunteer opportunities across many areas including:

Become a Volunteer

We welcome volunteers across many areas such as peer support, advocacy, awareness ambassadors, events and those who would like to get involved in research projects.

All volunteers will be required to sign a volunteer agreement and comply with our volunteer policy.

Please complete our volunteer expression of interest form or get in contact to find out more.

Become a Voluntary Board Member

Our Board of Directors are made up of volunteers and are responsible for the oversight and governance of FND Ireland across a number of areas including finance, risk, strategy, compliance and policy.

We currently have an opportunity for a board member with expertise in finance and audit for the role of Treasurer. Please get in contact with us if you would like to considered for this role or to find out more.

We also would like to hear from potential board members in other areas of expertise such as governance, marketing and communications.

Raise Awareness

Support

You don’t need to volunteer as an Awareness Ambassador to raise awareness of FND in Ireland, there are other opportunities which may suit you better and allow you do so at your pace.

If you are active on social media you can share our posts across the different social media platforms to spread awareness of FND and what we do.

You might like to be part of our ‘Reach out for FND’ national awareness campaign which we will run during FND Awareness Month in April each year or be involved in other important dates to highlight FND such as FND Awareness Day, Brain Awareness Week and World Brain Day.

We will of course be spreading awareness of FND all year round so if you would like to organise an event or participate in an existing event please get in touch.

You may like to tell your personal journey with FND and feature in our FND stories on our website, newsletter/magazine or podcast.

Partner With Us

Support

FND Ireland welcome opportunities to partner with other national and international organisations in a unified effort to advance research, treatment and supports for those living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) or similar conditions.

We are actively looking for a patient partnership and collaborating with healthcare and educational professionals to ensure that Ireland is at the forefront in FND research.

Once we are registered as a charity there also will be the opportunity to become a corporate charity partner.

Please get in contact with us to discuss any partnership proposals.
